If I could give this product no stars to write a review, this would be my choice. I've had 3 of these and they all stopped working at some point or just assumed the one I'm using now has to go offline 2 or 3 times a day and then plug it back in because of the same issue. (Cannot find DNS server for domain names.) I have decided to upgrade my service with Century Link. At first I was told that a new modem through them would cost $100, but then when I actually spoke to someone it was actually $150. So we bought the C3000Z through Revain. Let's see how it is. They ended up telling me that the C3000Z is the only 40MB modem they have that I flash to. In order for your new C3000Z modem to run at a higher speed you will need to duplicate your line if you only have one line. It's also a one-time fee of $60. Duplex turns your line into two. If you have a life prize, it shouldn't change your bet. Xyxel doesn't have a good reputation when it comes to modems, which is why I think I'm asking Centurylink who they work with and if they really care about the service they provide. I recommend purchasing a protection plan. Chances are you will use a Xyxel modem several times in 4 years. But paying a small amount up front is better than spending $100 or more every 6-9 months until Centurylink finally understands and works with another supplier to make a better quality modem than Xyxel's.
