Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Your Vehicle's Performance with the KYB 343429 Excel-G Gas Shock by Mike Betzing

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great shock absorbers made in Japan, but hardware is NOT included and can be purchased separately. Get Monroe instead

KYB shocks for the Focus are good stuff and made in Japan. KYB gear is expensive (about $20 for a regular price set). But the shocks and brackets look good, fit and look just like the originals. If you can get a stock shock (usually under $10 each) I would give the shocks 5 stars. But if you have to pay the regular price for mounts, just buy Monroe shocks instead. Monroe uses a different design than OE. Instead of the original mount, Monroe uses a simple rubber bushing. But more importantly, Monroe includes all the gear with its shock absorbers.

Pros
  • Strong seamless mounting tabs and stud bushings to eliminate chatter
Cons
  • Boring packaging
