Well, first let me say that our municipal water is pretty acidic. They filtered it, passed it through reverse osmosis, and of course the acidic component remained. acidic enough to etch tooth enamel. Experimented with several alkaline technologies. You have super expensive desktop alkalizers that use electricity, various devices like the Santevia system and of course only buying water if you are rich and need a good workout. a gallon a day that we should all be drinking. Alkaline water, when you buy it, costs at least a few dollars a gallon. A gallon weighs 8 pounds. Based on one gallon per person per day, let's say a family of four needs 28 gallons per week, weighs 224 pounds, and costs $56. Not counting time, fuel or delivery. Santevia will generate as much water for you and it costs around $60 at best for supplies for the same 6 months. For our purposes we use the Santevia system. Makes our extremely acidic city water a little alkaline, does not need electricity and adds even more micronutrients. power on the basis of reverse osmosis. I haven't tried it, but I added a mineral cartridge to our reverse osmosis system. With what I know now I would recommend using a good reverse osmosis system before the countertop unit first, if your water has contaminants such as fluorine then pour the result into the Santevia countertop as the mineral cartridges are recycled you only get one fast passage for water and do not alkalize evenly or well. The table block is slower and alkalizes more thoroughly, the process takes time. Where I come from when it comes to "belief in waterβ: This type of device has issues with pH, ionization, and actual alkalinity. People believe in different things. I personally believe that alkalinity and pH are the most important factors as they have a clear impact on a person's mineral balance and therefore human biochemistry. Pros: Prepare and maintain multiple gallons of alkaline water with little pain and effort. Price. Filters out most pollutants, bacteria, parasites and pesticides. Cons: I wouldn't trust this or any other consumer filter to filter unsafe drinking water and they don't claim that will be the case. Does not remove fluoride. On the other hand, they never said it was. You really need to do maintenance every 6 months. Why not 5 stars? A few small comments given the cost of the system: the block is heavy plastic, it would be better to see the glass. Advertised pH 8.5 but our VERY acidic water cannot go to 8.5, more like 7.2 to 7.7. Our tub had a rough spot on the spout hole, the plastic needed to be smoothed out to keep it from leaking. Summary: good and affordable alkaline water, does not use electricity and the process is natural. Addendum: still works perfectly. I had a few questions about our low pH for customer service. Found that they didn't reply and couldn't send me the promised information. Don't hold your breath and wait for her.
