This is a nice little switch. The LED is in the tip of the handle. I had the hardest time getting the LED to illuminate. But after talking to my electrical engineer father, I figured it out and I will try to pass it on to you. There are 3 connectors on the switch: one is power (from the battery/fuse block), one is load (to the accessory you are trying to power), and the third one is supposed to be ground (to the battery return or virtually anything metal that you can connect to). I guess this is what messes most people up. The third connector, the closest by where it says "off", is supposed to be connected to ground. This is what makes the LED light up.
