Black sediment in the water after several boils, unusable.

I must have gotten a lemon or something, I was going to love this kettle but on the first boil I noticed a lot of black flaky sediment in my water, after the fourth boil the sediment was still there and no better either after 4 large boils and douching. Upon further examination, the spout's sweat area was covered with a black residue that drained into the water. Even after thorough cleaning with a sponge (as far as I could use a sponge to clean) it still left a black residue. This shouldn't have happened to others as it renders the kettle completely unusable.
