It makes a great gift or bag for those who are older and want to relive some of the classic games, or for those who love arcade or retro games. If you're looking for a more serious retro gaming experience, look elsewhere, but it's perfect for a quick backpacking game with instant loading for classic arcade games. First, this product is not perfect. This is to be expected in the sub-$20 price range. The screen has some light stains on the edges. There's no select button, which breaks multiple games that rely on it. Many of the 318 games are filler and should not be played. That said, there are definitely enough good games to add value and redeem the console, and the hardware supports games well enough with low latency, good button response, and decent battery life. The screen is bright and easily viewable even in outdoor lighting, and has good enough resolution to avoid clipping and distortion seen on some other devices. The selection of games is quite good, albeit scattered. I found about 20 games that I thought were worth playing and wrote a cheat sheet on the battery cover to list the game numbers. You can't add new games, but there's definitely enough to explore, and I've discovered some great new games that I've never come across before. Overall, it's worth the money once you understand its limitations. This is a good gift for those who love games but don't have the patience or knowledge to set up an emulator.
