My car has a textured dashboard so I never thought anything with suction would stick but this one did. The sticky bottom forms a seal and the pressure keeps it in place pretty well. He crashed a couple of times on very hot days while the car was in the parking lot. Charging also works quite well, even with my Note9 in the case. The clips hold the phone firmly in place, which is a good thing. Here are the things I wish they were almost perfect: 1. The toes on the bottom could be a bit longer. It would be nice for a phone without a case. It's just a bit short with a case, so much so that my phone dropped several times when I put it on the charger.2. I wish there was a feature to automatically open the clamps when the power is turned off. Sure, it's not the end of the world that you had to press a button to trigger it, but an automatic opening would have been much nicer.
