This wool base layer is lightweight and fairly thin.
Whether you want to buy this product depends on what you are looking for. If you're going on a winter hike or camping trip, look for something heavier for the cool (not cold) days of spring or early fall. I would not recommend this item as a base. I ordered them for spring/fall motorcycle rides and cross country trips when a morning ride needs a little extra thermal protection. They appear to be well made and true to size.
