Review on FRAM Extra Guard CH9018: High-Quality 10K Mile Change Interval Cartridge Oil Filter in Black by Josh Elkins

I used this filter on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. It's just a filter, but it works great. My only big issue is that I changed my oil 2 days ago after 5,000 miles and I didn't change this filter. However, as with all oil changes I've done in the past, I removed the filter to allow for a better drain. I coated the filter o-ring with oil and reinstalled it. The car drove great, no problems. Then boom, big oil leak. My car has never had oil leaks in the past and I traced the leak to the filter. It seems to me that the o-ring was unhappy with the removal and installation (although they claim it is a 10,000+ mile filter) and began leaking a significant amount of oil. I think the product is great and the quality is reliable but I think this is a warning for future crafters. attributed the leak to the failure of the filter sealing ring.
