FRAM Extra Guard CH9018: High-Quality 10K Mile Change Interval Cartridge Oil Filter in Black Review

Fram oil filters have always served me well. With that in mind, I can't give an honest review of this particular oil filter? Do I have to drive a few miles with this oil filter before I can feel the difference in the feel of the oil and the smoothness of my engine? Come back after 3000 km.

Great filter for my 2003 Saturn Ion with 232,000 miles! I installed the same filter on my last oil change and when I drained the oil to install this new filter the oil did not look like it did when I used the TG9018 filter. It does an excellent job of filtering oil and was $2 cheaper at Revain than Walmart (in store). I paid almost the same price for the XG as I did for the TG at Walmart.

Fits 13 Equinox 2.4L cartridge filters. Made in the USA with metal base. I bought it as another reviewer had the same issues with AC Delco and other filters failing due to poor Ecotec motor design. The Fram Ultra's metal base seems to hold up and doesn't fail. Costs $11 compared to other $7 types. Also comes with an o-ring for the lid. Purchase a low profile 32mm socket and use a flex head ratchet to remove the cover. Please!

I used this filter on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. It's just a filter, but it works great. My only big issue is that I changed my oil 2 days ago after 5,000 miles and I didn't change this filter. However, as with all oil changes I've done in the past, I removed the filter to allow for a better drain. I coated the filter o-ring with oil and reinstalled it. The car drove great, no problems. Then boom, big oil leak. My car has never had oil leaks in the past and I traced the leak to the filter. It seems…
