Review on Rosonway 5 In 1 USB C Hub With 3 USB 3.2 10Gbps Data Ports, SD/TF Card Readers, 2Ft Cable And Individual Switches, For PC, Laptops, M1 Mac Mini, IMac, MacBook Pro/Air, RSH-A104D by Glenn Rodgers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Functional and doesn't take up a lot of space

The Rosonway 5 in 1 USB C to USB 3.2 hub works great! I am using it with an iMac and a MacBook Pro. For data transfer, I connected the hub via the USB C cable. The hub has three USB 3.2 data ports, an SD card reader, and a micro-SD card reader. I transferred large amounts of music between the different hubs and each transfer took only seconds. All three ports support charging. I’m super happy with it. I have both a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard for my iMac. Lately, I have not been able to get a full charge for either of them. Maybe 35-40% after 3 or 4 hours connected to a wall outlet. I connected an AC adapter (not included) to the hub and plugged it into my wall outlet. Then I plugged in my magic mouse. A couple of hours later, it was charged to 100%. So, I did the same thing with my keyboard. It also charged to 100% within a couple of hours. I was concerned that I might be looking at battery issues, but the ability to charge to 100% with the Rosonway has that concerned abated. This will live on my desk, connected to my iMac. Its compact design keeps it from getting "in the way.” I often want to read a thumb drive and don’t like having to reach around to the back of my display to plug something in. This hub would be great for travel for charging your devices at night in a hotel room or carrying in your laptop case, so you have easy access to USB ports. My MacBook Pro is a 2016 and has only 2 thunderbolt ports. I keep an adapter in my bag, but this would be good, too.The only disappointment is that the hub doesn’t have any USB C ports.

Pros
  • Individual Switches: Each super-speed USB data port of the USB-C hub has an On/Off switch with LED indicator, easy to show power status. Electronic switch design, Light press to open, long press for two seconds to close. You can turn on/off the separate USB port without having to unplug the whole hub. When the power is restored, the port will maintain the previously set state.
Cons
  • The hub's USB ports are not well-suited for charging devices, meaning separate charging cables are required

This has worked like a charm. Hooked up external drive, Bluetooth devices, Samsung phone, even another hub and all have worked without issue!
