*I take everything back! I originally left a bad review because I couldn't get the device to work for more than 10 minutes. I'm ashamed to say it was user error! (Insert a slap here.) We have Xfinity and wanted more than the Xfy app it offered, so we bought it. At first I couldn't get the device to work - it shut down after about ten minutes and after a few reboots I gave up. I put it back in the box to return it (and left an irritating review), but it dawned on me the next morning - I realized that when I plugged in the Router Limits device, I'd forgotten to show it in the Xfinity Xfy app to confirm ! The Xfy security system disconnected the device from our network and then disconnected the network, requiring a hard reboot. Realizing my mistake, I reconnected the Router Limits device and then checked the Xfy app. where I could approve it. Since then it has worked flawlessly. We didn't experience any slowdowns or connection issues and it works as advertised, blocking inappropriate content and applying time limits. I sincerely regret my first hot review and I really hope it didn't put anyone off their purchase as this is a great product at a great price. *old review* That sucks! That does not work. As soon as I connected it to our modem, we started having problems. It runs for about ten minutes and then shuts down OR causes our internet to go down. After going through the 20 minute process of restarting the router and re-pairing the router's restriction device, it works again for about ten minutes. This is IF we could get it to reconnect. Last time he didn't mate at all. I am so disappointed and frustrated.
