I'm sure this stuff works great for smaller motor heads and lower tension springs. I tried it on my LS7 heads. The valve guide was done on the engine before I got the car so I don't know if the springs are stock or not. In this case, the C-body of the tool was flexed before the spring was sufficiently compressed. I foolishly kept going as I still couldn't finish the work and the birdcage collapsed on its side. It's not a very durable instrument and appears to be made of "pot metal" in some places, like the birdcage. The pens are durable. No handle. I believe part C of the tool is made of good quality metal but not strong enough for my use case. This tool should be fine if you have something smaller with less spring tension and worth a try for $24. I'm moving to ProForm 66832. If you can do it yourself, do it.
