This device got me connected to the internet in minutes. In fact, the "auto" configuration worked right out of the box. However, I'm using PPoE and I know the credentials for it, so it was just a matter of putting them in and letting them do the rest. Here's another review (or Q&A) where someone explains their settings to make them work. Mine matched theirs except for the PPoE part. The device itself is pretty standard. It has QoS and a firewall which is nice. Not the prettiest interface, but who cares. You probably won't log in often once your internet is up and running. I only gave four stars instead of five for one reason and maybe I'm being too critical. I have a wireless router that I use to connect to. Figuring out how to put the modem into "bridge" mode (if at all possible) wasn't easy. This is a mode that allows your router to act as the default gateway instead of the modem. You set up PPoE credentials on the router, and it uses a modem to log in to the ISP. I was able to put my wireless router into wireless hotspot mode as a workaround, so it's not a big deal. In any case, if CenturyLink is using VDSL instead of ADSL in your area, it probably won't work for you. But if you have an old-school ADSL connection, this should work.
