My dishwasher left such bad white hard stains on my dishes that after 10 years of use we had a filter at the bottom so clogged with grease it was a disaster to say the least! My son used the same dishwasher degreaser at work so we first manually removed as much of the nasty dirt in and around the filter as we could! With morning soap and Googon. Then I ran the dishwasher a few times for a hot wash while it was empty. Then he just poured a little degreaser into the hole and applied it twice to the hot laundry. We sat there to make sure we weren't inundated with degreaser. So it worked, but it filled the bottom of the washing machine first, so we got scared and stopped it. Then restarted. It helped, but now we have to do it regularly several times a year. Put this on your calendar to keep it clean. Its fumes/smells are highly toxic so KEEP YOUR PETS, ESPECIALLY BIRDS, outside all day, open sliding doors and windows and run a HEPA charcoal filter in your living area for the day to get rid of the chemicals in the air! Do it early in the morning so you don't smell at night!
