Review on ๐Ÿ” Utopicar Blind Spot Mirrors - Innovative Car Door Mirrors for Enhanced Traffic Safety and Wide Rear View [Frameless Design] (2 Pack) by Mauricio Woodard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product but lack of adjustment and irregular shape led me to other mirrors

I bought 4 different blind spot mirrors (including these Autopicar models) from Revain to find the one that worked best for me. I decided to return them after temporarily installing them on my computer. That's why I didn't save them. #1: They are unregulated. These mirrors are attached with thick double-sided tape. They can't be moved once they're stuck... and you can't change their angle, regardless of your primary mirror. My car currently has Amfor blind spot mirrors (rectangular) installed. Amfor units come with a small adjustable bracket that keeps each blind spot mirror a small distance from the surface of the existing mirror. This allows you to adjust the angle of the mirror (up/down, side to side). At first I thought it was a trick. But the ability to position the blind spot mirrors independently of the main mirrors is a nice feature. Another disadvantage of not customizing is that you can only set them once. If you don't like how you attached it to the mirror, all you can do is peel/cut it off (which may damage the mounting tape in the process). Unfortunately mirrors don't come with extra 2 sided tape so you only have one try. For this reason, the blind spot mirrors I chose came with several spare pieces of double-sided tape. #2: The shape of the mirror wasn't what I expected. I thought they would better match the contours of the existing mirrors on my car. But when I positioned them, they didn't really line up as expected. So keep in mind that while this may be the general shape of your car's mirrors, they may not match exactly if that's what you're hoping for. To be honest their photos show they won't be a perfect match and my expectations were probably too high. I just didn't notice. There is no way they will make everything fit perfectly. I also couldn't get used to the irregular shape of these mirrors and found them a bit more difficult to use. I prefer the symmetry of a rectangular mirror for blind spots. This depends on your personal preference and may not matter to you. #3: The large image in the comparison photo is exaggerated. The photo seems to imply that these mirrors show things a lot more than other blind spot mirrors. This may be the case with the tiny round mirror used in their comparison photo, but the Autopicar mirrors show the image at the same size as other blind spot mirrors I've tested. Looking at their comparison photo, I thought that these mirrors have an unusual property of magnifying the image (actually, they don't). So the demo photo they show is a little far fetched unless you actually have those tiny round mirrors in your car. I really think these mirrors are good quality and I can understand why people prefer them. They just weren't quite what I was looking for.

  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Upgradeable
