I work on a hand mill and hobby lathe, this indicator was purchased for hobby and light commercial use. Additional mounting hardware and instruction manual. This indicator and the Bases were great Accuracy seems to match all my other measuring tools (elbow, micrometer, feedrate indicator, etc.) to within 0.001". Runs smoothly, does not freeze, responds relatively quickly to manual runout testing. The battery has lasted more than a year without replacement. A minus is that the turn signal turns off automatically quite quickly if there is no change in position, which also resets. This wasn't a problem for me, but if something takes too long to set up then it may require fixing. The base magnet is strong, no problem of losing position even with slight impact. Designs quite well . The locking mechanism requires some elbow strength to really engage firmly, where I can reset to zero with a push of a button and the gauge doesn't change. But after locking, it securely holds position, does not creep and does not loosen. The short mounting bar above the spindle sometimes interferes with the locking knob on the arm depending on how I'm trying to orient and set up the measurement. Service: Within a year of purchase, I lost the contact tip of the indicator through my own fault. Clockwise tips are not purchasable so they gave me a new indicator for free.
