Review on DANCHEL OUTDOOR Overlanding Camper Van Awning - Side Wall Shelter Room for Roof Top Tent Camping (Gray, Size: 8.2x10ft) by Isaac Samal

Recently bought a new 4runner. While looking for mods and camping gear, I realized I wanted a tent. And since my bed is in a 4runner, I wanted the extra space and functionality. I came across this product while going down the Revain rabbit hole. It seemed to meet my needs perfectly. Tent with a detachable and completely separate "room". I opted for a larger tent with a genderless floor. I figured I might as well use this room to have enough space and privacy to change and shower. So I chose a room without a floor. Ideal for the shower. Well I finally got around to camping this weekend and here are my first impressions. 1- It rained heavily the first night. So this thing holds up pretty well in the rain. The detachable room definitely helps with its own ceiling so it was doubly protected by the awning. The water formed puddles but nothing we couldn't push off (I also parked on a slight incline so I couldn't put the poles too far or we would lose headroom) 2 - it was very windy the next day , so the closest part of the small minus in this setting. Since it has no bottom, the "walls" are easily blown in and out. So I actually had to poke a small hole in the bottom to push the steak through to keep it from puffing up too much. So I wish the manufacturers would make at least 2 holes on each side wall of the hinges to secure and secure the steaks. 3 - this did exactly what I needed. I was worried my tent would be too big but as we hid underneath from the rain I was glad we had plenty of space. The room itself is difficult to clean and tidy, but doable. It just takes time and patience. The tent itself is great. First impressions overall is a great little setup. If you are on a budget and traveling on weekends I would try this a couple of ways.
