Not suitable for testing low voltage compared to household voltage

I really liked the thing, I like its form factor and that's why I think it's easier to test sockets with it, and also a useful larger one Range . Unfortunately, the non-contact tester operates at low voltage, which makes it practically useless for this purpose. As a home inspector, I often have to check bare wires to make sure they are high voltage and should therefore be removed. A tester that lights up even at low voltage doesn't help at all. I've never had this problem with voltage spikes. I had no trouble testing the GFCI with it, although oddly it takes about a second for some switches to trip. Other testers I encountered immediately turned them off. By the way, I complained to Sperry and they rushed to send replacements, the second block of the contactless tester was a little better, but not much. It doesn't fire until it's within an inch of 5 volts, the first tripped 5-6 inches away. Still useless.
