Don't buy this from Crockpot, they charge TOO MUCH for those two small parts that are easy to lose Cook. This little piece sits in the lid and pops out when the pressure cooker is pressurized, and sits next to a safety valve that you turn to release the pressure when you're done cooking. I'm a male and after using my pressure cooker for the first time, I nearly lost a piece of metal (a float that floats to the top) and a small rubber ring (sealant) right down the drain! So I bought 5 small medal pins (called floaters) and rubber rings (called sealers) to fit on them. Just in case, it pays to have some supplements. They are a bit difficult to put on BUT I also have very large fingers.
