Whatever it is, it's well made and looks like .

However, it is well made and appears to be very hard brass. Internal thread NPT 1/4" and external thread NPT 3/8". I can't use it because I didn't realize the thread I screwed it into was 3/8" (not NPT). it was cheap enough.
