K&N - Made in America and you can see that!

Author: Gabriel Boudreau K&N Air Filters Riverside, CA. I grew up in Southern California around off-road and oval racing. I have known the quality of K&N for YEARS. Every car I own has a K&N filter of one type or another (I have two SUVs and a 4x2). All of my previous vehicles had some kind of K&N filtration system installed. The quality of these systems cannot be surpassed. An air filter with a paper element costs about $20. Replace it three times and you could have a K&N air filter that lasts 1,000,000 miles or more. own. I installed this system. I'm very good with a wrench, but even a beginner could get the job done with minimal guidance or experience. All necessary equipment is included in the box. The instructions are GREAT. Very logical and neat. Took me about 1 hour to remove and install this system on my SUV. The filter came pre-lubricated with oil so I didn't have to fiddle with spraying the filter. Everything fits well, light and tidy, and it looks GREAT on the truck. The noise this system produces when the engine is started is offset by the standard exhaust. It's really nice to hear the roar of a V8 with such a system under the hood. It also saves quite a bit on refueling as I've seen a 2-3% increase in MPG. The engine breathes better and I am rewarded with this MPG. Is there a return on investment? Yes, the system pays for itself after around 3 years of operation of your forklift. So if you want your Explorer to sound better, look better and you don't live in California (it's illegal there for SMOG reasons) then get one of these kits. Especially if you plan to own a truck for more than 3 years. Over time it will pay off with better MPG and you will NEVER change filters again.

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY: Made in America.
Cons
  • boring packaging
