Great job with parts

Sounds fantastic, adds a noticeable performance boost. I'm glad I bought it! Was really impressed with the power increase when the Cat Back Magna Flow exhaust was added.

Easy to install! Intake noise slightly louder

Installed on my 2002 Ford Explorer Limited with a 4.6 liter V8 engine. I already had a custom exhaust installed, so the little extra intake noise wasn't very noticeable. The installation was not long in coming and took half an hour.

does the work for the air intake

This K&N makes an awesome sound when you step on the gas pedal. It's a nice deep growl, but at idle you don't have any extra noise. Installing it on a 5 year old Explorer wasn't difficult, although one of the brackets was difficult to understand. The entire installation only took about an hour.

Higher intake air temperature than intake air OEM

K&N is and remains extremely overpriced in terms of value for money. Installation wasn't terrible, but their instructions need to be written a little better (particularly the saddle mount). Well I installed it, hooked up my laptop and after installation checked my IAT to compare it to the IAT from the OEM listing. Note that the ambient temperature has not changed. My K&N intake IAT actually rose 18° over the OEM. So it's safe to say it's more of a short intake duct that conducts engine heat to…

K&N - Made in America and you can see that!
