Glad I took this with me on my trip to French Polynesia! I have snorkeled many times. I have always worn diving boots because my feet get cold. In French Polynesia this is not a problem as the water is very warm. I'm glad I had it though - in many places the shore was rocky and there were small fragments of coral in the sand. As we have often dived from the beach these boots really saved my feet. I went in the water with my boots, grabbed my flippers and put the flippers on in the water. You don't really need them when you're sailing from a boat, but then I wore them anyway! I didn't want to accidentally cut myself when encountering a coral. Be sure to test your fins! I am very happy with the purchase!
