I just got them in the mail so it's too early to rate durability (I'll update this review after using these boots for a while) but they are comfortable and I like how they look. I bought them for surfing (to protect my feet from rocks/reefs/corals). I read the reviews before buying so I knew they had to be smaller than my usual outdoor shoes. Glad I took this with me on my trip to French Polynesia! I have snorkeled many times. I have always worn diving boots because my feet get cold. Size: As others have pointed out, I had to buy one size smaller than I normally wear. However, they fit well. I have a very wide foot and that wasn't a problem. I bought these for scuba diving but I liked them on a recent family trip to Puerto Rico. We had a house right on the beach and we were in the water every day. I used them on a 6 day snorkeling trip in Sipadan, Malaysia. I have the new Mares Volo Power dive fins - black (regular size 9-11). The water temperature in July 2018 was between 26.7 °C and 28.9 °C. I ordered two pairs for myself. We know that so far without commenting on the longevity. I order the twelfth size. They were exactly the same size as regular shoes. They left me about a half inch of extra room in the toe box. My foot size is about 11 inches and the insole in the ankle boots was 11.5 inches.
