We ordered 5.9 and this size is great for our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children under 7 years old). At first glance, they appear small, but they're almost the same size as the plastic needles that come with takeout food. After a few meals, we adults get used to the size. It's better if they're smaller because they're less likely to fall off the plates when you're walking around with them. We use these spatulas and have saved a few butter knives by getting rid of all our spoons and forks. Eating and dishwashing made much easier. The spores do not appear to be dangerously sharp for supervised home use. They're as sharp as the forks we used to use with the kids. These forks go great with pasta, rice, soup, cereal, ice cream, hot chocolate, etc. We didn't find any foods these forks couldn't handle properly. We love her :)
