I completely rethought the installation process, but once I realized what I was doing wrong, the installation was incredibly easy. Simply open the clips at the top and bottom of the new rack. Find a stick, pole, or something to hold up the hood. Open the clips on your car's strut and remove it from the ball joints at both ends. Install a new one and close the clips. The brace is VERY strong compared to our worn OEM brace which no longer holds the hood. The hood now needs extra force to close but I expect the heat in the engine bay will fix that over time. In general, this is a complete mess. If your hood doesn't rise anymore, what are you waiting for?
