It's well designed and made - not cheap. This gives a lot of clearance between my large hands on the handlebars and the extra bar. I ordered the long tube version and then changed the accessories so I only needed the 4 inch extension arm. Instead of cutting through that nice tube or sacrificing an aluminum mountain bike handlebar (same 7/8" or .875" OD), I cut a piece of 3/4" ID Pex-A tubing. I rubbed it down to reduce the likelihood of accessories (Cygolite and Mirrycle Incredibell headlights) slipping UPDATE: There is no problem with the mount itself, but my Pex-A tube is too smooth which allows the accessory to rotate.I replaced it with a .875"3" eaves section (which I cut with a pipe cutter. It worked great on an often bumpy 4+ hour drive. I'm ready.
