Good mop but has issues

I like this mop and will keep it. It gets the job done but it has some issues.Pros: It does what it is supposed to do. Fairly easy to put the handle together. It has a metal plate where the mop head attaches instead of plastic. It's nice that they added a soft rubber ring that goes around the metal plate so it doesn't scratch your floors. It comes with six cotton mop heads, not two as many of the spin mops. The mop handle is metal so it's sturdy. The spin part of the bucket is metal and sturdy also. The cotton mopping discs are fairly thick. Great for mopping up wet spills and messes. Spin wash gets the mop head clean, spin dry dries it out well enough to do my laminate floors. Floors are dry in a few minutes.Cons: You have to sweep your floor first. It is not good at picking up solids or anything stuck to the floor, pieces of leaves/yard matter the dog brings in. If something is stuck to the floor it will not pick it up, you have to scrape it up but no different than any other mop in that area. Whether the mop handle is in the locked or unlocked position, the mop head flips up if you push on it too hard or the wrong way. You have to be careful to keep the mop head flat to the floor and all the strings spread out or it flips up, the rubber ring pops off easily and you can end up scratching your wood floors. Slight learning curve to keep the mop head flat. Also if you don't keep the mop head flat, the strings easily ball up underneath and it's like trying to mop your floor with a giant cotton ball. The handle to pull the bucket is too short, made of soft plastic, extremely flimsy like a toy, feels like it is going to break, does not straighten out all the way and it's weird bending over to pull the bucket. Easier to pick it up and move it around. The plastic bucket is lightweight so when you push the mop head down in the spin wash and spin dry, the bucket moves around a little.Overall, none of the cons are a deal breaker. I saved a decent amount of money on this system over the higher priced name brand ones and it does what I need it to do. Floors are cleaner and I am not using the same dirty, nasty mop head all the time. Easy to wash.

Pros
  • Machine Washable
Cons
  • The fibers are too short, making it difficult to clean larger messes
