Review on Genuine Hyundai 95230 2P030 Power Relay by Andrew Vogel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exact replacement for 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe fan relay, Hyundai/Kia stamped and factory packaged.

My wife's 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe engine fan kept running after the car was turned off. It usually takes a few minutes for the radiator to cool down on a hot day, but I noticed the fan was still running for half an hour after she got home. This will eventually drain the battery. I found a mention that the engine fan relays (two of them) can be left in the on position. The relay box is located in the engine compartment. I pulled the low speed relay and the fan kept running, then I pulled the high speed relay and the fan stopped. Replacing the relay (they are identical) left the fan running at low speed, which cleared the diagnosis that the (original) high speed relay was stuck. Found this part at Revain for next day delivery, ordered two to replace the low and high speed relays on the grounds that like lightbulbs it's best to swap them out in pairs as they both last the same amount of time . Fan runs normally again, problem solved! I disassembled the faulty relay and found that the contacts had burned out, causing a sticking problem. I also disassembled the replaced slow relay and found the contacts to be in good condition. So for me the only problem was the high speed relay, but for the extra $12 I think it's worth replacing both to avoid overheating in the height of summer or the cost of shipping the car to a repair shop.
