Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

The model has a gold ring, with all the consequences. Quality product, reliable in work. I don’t know why everyone swears at sharpness, for me personally, the lens showed excellent results both on the d800 and on the d750. Sharpness is excellent, close to fixes. The lens has been exposed to heavy rains, snowfalls, dust and everything that can be encountered on the thorny path of a news reporter. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to shoot groups of people at a wide angle, and I don’t envy those who fall into the corner of the frame. Strongly pulls the corners and the profile in LR and PS cannot be straightened. At f/4 the sharpness is good, but the corners are slightly soapy. For most cases, f / 4 is enough (considering that the lens has a working stabilizer, which really saves), but still I would like to get lighter. It was disappointing that it was impossible to use cokin filters at wide angle. That is, you can attach a piece of glass to the front lens, but you can use the entire system somewhere from 20mm (I don’t remember the exact fr). In principle, I shoot most of the landscape with 24-35mm, so all this is trifles. The lens hood became unreliable with time, you have to fix it with electrical tape. In general, an excellent wide-angle lens that will become an excellent tool for you for many years.

Pros
  • wide angle sharpness 77mm filter Stabilizer Practical set of focal lengths Dust and moisture protection Fast and quiet focusing
Cons
  • Inability to use filters of the Cokin P system at a wide angle (a noticeable border is visible at the edges of the frame) The rear lens has a design that sucks in dust. Yes, in the frame it is not noticeable in any way, but it's just not pleasant. At 16mm, the edges pull strongly, for the same 16-35mm on Canon, the corners showed better and more pleasant distortion. I would like f / 2.8 or even f / 3.5
