Poor quality - translucent material

We have a Williamsburg brass chandelier with a cracked base due to age and we were looking for a replacement. The originals are very opaque, you can't see anything through them. When attached, the shape of the rosette is visible through these bases and looks bad. I'm still looking for a good base for my chandelier.
