Nicely finished, fairly thick aluminum with non-stick coating. Works great in combination with my 10" stainless steel skillet and lid. The center button gets a little too hot to comfortably hold without a finger guard (not surprising), but otherwise not an issue. not necessary) and add some salt and pepper before adding the eggs. Bring 1/2 inch water to a boil in a saucepan, pour into a 'filled' spoon, cover and reduce heat slightly to maintain water level. cook slowly. Cook for four minutes and ten seconds (4:10) for the perfect poached eggs. I prefer fully cooked egg whites, but the yolk is still quite runny so times may vary.
