I like to cook pasta in pots like this but the previous ones I had were better in my opinion If you have a lid, it is not very reliable. So when you boil water, boiling water often splashes and spills out from under the lid, even if the pot is only half full. This was not a problem with previous pans. Likewise, I feel that while the pan is deep, the colander is a little shallow so you end up having to pour in a lot more water to cover the pasta than other pans - which also means longer cooking times because you have to boil more water. If I were to redesign this, I'd probably spend an extra $10-15 and go with a brand I trust more.
