Wow! Easy installation and works as it should! Dell laptop with legacy b/g/n WiFi and Windows 10 installed. Ookla Speedtest and Google Speedtest struggled to get much more than a few (2-3) Mbps upload results. I plugged the adapter into the USB socket, Windows installed the device without much fanfare, hooray. When I checked Device Manager, I saw a new adapter on the network. I went to the notification area in the system tray, clicked on my WiFi icon and selected my WiFi network (802.11AC). Reconnected with no problems. Disabled the old Dell b/g/n adapter in Device Manager. Run the speed test again and get no stable results of 100-200 Mbps (with an 802.11 AC router and 250 Mbps Internet access). Windows Task Manager > Performance tab showed that CPU usage never exceeded 60 percent, 4 GB of 8 GB of RAM was being used, and network throughput numbers were similar or better than speed tests. Outlook, Firefox with multiple tabs, 2 PDFs, multiple Word documents, folders and more open during testing. I've loaded a few websites, news sites that have been loading slowly at best lately and they all worked quickly as they should, loading noticeably in just a few seconds compared to the noticeable lag before. Still need a new laptop, but this adapter allows you to use your current laptop for a while longer. A worthwhile upgrade for little money, despite the lack of a USB slot.
