Watch out for purple smoke!

I rarely write bad reviews, but this one won't be positive. The device arrived on time and I configured it correctly with a lab-level current limit of 3.3V. The supply was set to a limit of about 150mA. The module loaded and patched in about 30 seconds and displayed the location data correctly. A minute later, the overcurrent protection tripped. Oops. I reset the PSU to a slightly higher current limit because I think the CPU needs more when it needs to process some numbers. nope The same thing happened. On the third try I set the max current to about 400mA and purple smoke came out. Game over. So I'm going back for a refund. It gets 2 stars because it was a pretty quick time to fix bad satellite visibility and if it worked long term it would be perfect for my project. UAV/FPV folks: Don't forget to bench test these things before flying or you might be rewarded with some interesting curved parts.
