Totally waterproof. I took this to the water park and by the end of the day my phone and cards in it were completely dry. I tested it in a tub with paper inside before doing it for real and it's extremely waterproof. A word of caution though. If you are outside in the heat I recommend removing your phone from the case before placing it in the case and checking it from time to time. My phone seemed to be very close to overheating and shut down. It felt quite hot when I took it out and turned it off. After some time before venting in the car I restarted it and everything was fine except for the heat shutdown warning which I missed. I suppose it goes without saying that anything that seals tightly to block water also traps things (heat) inside, but I hadn't thought of that before. This could have been a very expensive and potentially dangerous oversight if my phone didn't have a built in auto power off feature.
