Our home was built in the 1950's and changes a little over the year due to temperature and soil moisture. We have several doors that will be ok in a week but next week the latch won't keep the door closed. I'm not good with needlework so I had to hire a handyman every time to come and adjust the door hangers. , which was both expensive and ruined the door frame from re-drilling the holes. A few months later one of our doors refused to lock so I decided to give it a try. Installation probably took 15 minutes (including gouging out a larger hole in the door frame to fit the larger panel), but it was pretty easy even for me. After that, to adjust the plate, all you have to do is loosen the screws slightly, slide the plate and screw it back in - a 30-second job.
