Good concept but better door hardware and locks

My front door is old and has been modified many times to properly seal against the winter cold. I needed a way to make a tighter fastener to make an airtight seal. This adjustable kick could solve the problem. But the two main screws that go with it? The bushings are too small and slip through the hole in the supplied adjustment plates. A clear oversight on their part. I was able to use the original screws I had. It's not about money, so it's okay.

Super smart product worked great

Amazing product. For many years I had a gap in the door and in winter the area around the door got so cold. I spent so much time trying to figure out if adding weather protection or door pull would help reduce the space. Then I came across this product. Worked great and helped me close the door tightly. I already notice a big difference. My wife, not even knowing I made the change, also remarked that the room was warmer.

  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • weak

So happy! on Door Hardware & Locks

I decided to replace the lock in my room with a key but for some reason the door wouldn't close with the old part. As if it would open if someone squeezed hard enough. It was frustrating because it missed my target! I did enough research and that led me to this part by googling the issue. I figured "c" 4 dlc wouldn't be such a bad thing if that didn't work out. I'm so glad I did! My door is now completely locked! And I loosened the screws with a screwdriver in less than 2 minutes! HOORAY!

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

I installed several of these and they all worked fine. Very few people seem to care about the door closing easily and properly as they never do, and without it there is little you can do about it. It takes a bit of trial and error to set up, but it's well worth it from time to time. Remove a small amount of wood at a time during installation. All my doors close tight against the weatherseal with little effort and the anti-theft pin is in the correct position.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Something different

Very strong striker that will solve the alignment problem

This adjustable striker was just what I needed to allow perfect alignment of the mortise striker. I had to re-drill the hole for the screws as this plank was slightly longer than the one it replaced, but the plastic wood made the process easier as it can be drilled through. I don't understand why this adjustable strike plate is not standard on the original install? I read the reviews and some people said it was weak and easy to bend but the one I got was very strong.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • I don't like it that's ok

Size to fit striker plate

The product works as it can be customised, but buyers should be aware that this product is larger than your existing striker plate. The spacing of the screw holes is the same as a bolt plate, so you'll either need to take a chisel and enlarge the slot in the plate, or if your door has enough clearance between the door and the jamb and you don't care how it looks, you can simply screw this plate onto the post. It will protrude about 3/16 inch from the hinge. This is what I did and it works fine.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Negative gift

This is much easier than the alternative.

This is a door lock and although it may look like a deadbolt plate to some it doesn't change what it is as it still has a tapered edge for the deadbolt to slide up over. The person who installed my existing panel on my front door looks like they used a drill and then overdid it with a chisel and it made installing the new panel with my toggle lock unusable. There just wasn't enough material to put it where it should be and get enough grip to hold it in place...even with the long screws. That…

They do exactly what they're supposed to do

Our home was built in the 1950's and changes a little over the year due to temperature and soil moisture. We have several doors that will be ok in a week but next week the latch won't keep the door closed. I'm not good with needlework so I had to hire a handyman every time to come and adjust the door hangers. , which was both expensive and ruined the door frame from re-drilling the holes. During a conversation with him I wondered if there is a solution to this problem and I quickly found this…
