Review on Defender Security Adjustable Door Strike, Chrome Plated, 2-Piece - U 9488 by Jon Robertson

This is a door lock and although it may look like a deadbolt plate to some it doesn't change what it is as it still has a tapered edge for the deadbolt to slide up over. The person who installed my existing panel on my front door looks like they used a drill and then overdid it with a chisel and it made installing the new panel with my toggle lock unusable. There just wasn't enough material to put it where it should be and get enough grip to hold it in place...even with the long screws. That being said I could push it even further and then adjust the front of the slide to make up for the difference in offset and get a good grip on the undamaged wood...plus moving forward covered the previous damage. It's designed for some specific doors as the description says, but the hole is big enough to use with the standard entry kit I installed...it's 3/4" x 1-1/4" ".
