Mainly used to measure welding machine performance and check interpass temperature. The infrared thermometer appears to be limited to 500-550 degrees Fahrenheit. The screen backlight and flashlight are very useful. Powered by 6 AAA batteries and the compartment can be opened with a coin or house key. After a one-time pairing with my Android via the Bluetooth interface of the system, the device does not connect like most products. Instead, the FLIR app searches and connects when Bluetooth is enabled on the multimeter and in the phone settings. This process can take up to a minute. Data output and sharing is great, and the sample rate can be adjusted. The only thing I wish it could control voltage and current at the same time, although the lack of that feature isn't a deal breaker.
