Review on πŸ’‘ Enhancing Display Brilliance with Nextech's Back Lit Enclosures by Rick Ross

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Very disappointed - so much potential but it may not connect to the computer at all - the software is almost unusable.

I have to be the guinea pig here. All 5 star ratings. Indeed? I am impressed by the quality of the devices. The display updates fairly quickly. The software is absolutely disgusting. One review mentions using the older 1.5 version - it seems to be of better quality but requires a COM port! The device only has USB and PS2 interfaces. I rarely have the software update numeric data in real time. I can use it to create charts, but I can't save the chart's data points - just a png graphic file or an image of the chart. It will load the maximum and minimum, but there will be no intermediate data. "Save in Excel" saves the minimum, maximum, and often zero for a single point. None of the keyboard shortcuts mentioned in the manual work at all. The USB cable I received was bad and I had to replace it - no big deal, it's easy - but I need the SW graphics data! So I can measure the minimum or maximum force and write it down by hand. I got a 3% agreement on Β£2.01 (by scale) and 2.08 for this device - I can work with that. Dimension 2.08 was a hanging, manual - and therefore non-fixed and somewhat dynamic dimension. I will gladly change my rating if I can get a working software. It has 4 star potential.

Pros
  • Made in Thailand. Power supply/charger input 100-240 volts AC. Powered by charger or built-in rechargeable NiMH battery. Connect to a PC via the USB port to plot or download data. 500 readings can be recorded to internal memory for later review or download.
