No "hook " in the handle

The metal spoon doesn't go very far into the handle, it goes about half an inch into the plastic. The first time I used them to change tires, I broke the handle. Tire scoops require a lot of leverage, but the handles can't be used to get that leverage because the scoop doesn't go more than half an inch into the tire to handle.
