We mounted this on a sash window in our office for privacy. Luckily we were able to remove the plates to attach them, but even then it was quite difficult to attach them properly. The finish was slightly scratched during application, and many of the blisters that remained despite our best efforts remained even after a few days of full drying. Also, the mirror effect is entirely dependent on which side of the glass has more light. When both sides are evenly lit, like we have in our office, both sides can easily see each other, just looking is confusing. I can see that it's pretty effective for the right application, but it's difficult to install and doesn't look particularly professional despite our best efforts.
