Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Absorber (24-186940) by Frank Villanueva

Revainrating 5 out of 5

2011 Silverado 1500 install

The absorber itself is easy to install, but installing it on a 2011 Silverado 1500 is generally a problem. To compress the coil I used two sets of Auto-Zone coil compressors and an air impact wrench (I don't recommend this as it's very dangerous, but I went for it anyway). As for the shocks themselves, they seem to have softened a lot since I first put them on. I'm not sure if I'm a fan. On the freeway and in curves, they sag heavily when the steering wheel is turned. They leveled my truck to max settings and 1" level on the rear. The dip I originally spoke of was actually normal in my opinion, but I was so used to the full suspension that I didn't know any better. Raise it Change your rating to 5 stars Definitely better steering and handling Note: I didn't change the rear shocks from the factory so that could also play a role.
