2011 Silverado 1500 install

The absorber itself is easy to install, but installing it on a 2011 Silverado 1500 is generally a problem. To compress the coil I used two sets of Auto-Zone coil compressors and an air impact wrench (I don't recommend this as it's very dangerous, but I went for it anyway). As for the shocks themselves, they seem to have softened a lot since I first put them on. I'm not sure if I'm a fan. On the freeway and in curves, they sag heavily when the steering wheel is turned. They leveled my truck to…

07' Silverado 1500 2WD works great. I used the maximum value (which they claim is 1.77 inches) to align the truck and it aligns perfectly. Warning: I also have an AirRide system with rear pads that raise the back of the truck by about 0.5 inches. lowest setting. You can use either of the two middle positions to align the 1500 with the stock front and rear suspension. I bought these to replace my inflated OEM shocks instead of regular shocks AND a $50-$200 alignment kit which is basically just a

I'm a Bilstein fan so I think it's great value for money.

They were great for aligning our 2013 2WD Suburban 1500. They are a bit more durable compared to OEM. Ride quality is much better, OEMs feel too soft, even new ones, and OEMs tend to cause uneven wear on my all-terrain tires, which is typical of bad or too-soft shocks. I mounted them at the same time as the new tires so time will tell how much better the new mount is. The feature I liked the most was the ability to customize the car to my liking. I didn't set the max height, I got second at the

Bilstein is back in business!

I have a 2008 Silverado with a Rough Country 3.5” lift kit (strut braces, UCA and front lowers, Rough Country blocks and rear shocks). The rubber part of the suspension is almost completely worn out and the front struts are ready for replacement. Went ahead and got adjustable Bilstein struts and 0-4 inch shocks for the rear along with all the rubber components under the truck. When I received the Bilstein I was very impressed with the quality of the shock bodies. Installation was a breeze, I…

Greatly improved Tahoe ride!

I first fitted a Bilstein 5100 to an '06 speedometer a few years ago. It made a big difference. So I bought a 2011 Tahoe and immediately noticed that the ride was bouncy and a bit slow. The truck almost rocked from side to side. The first thing I did was look at these 5100 Bilsteins and saw that they flattened the front end as well, which is what I wanted to do. From the factory the rear was 38" floor to fender and front was 35 1/2" up front. The truck not only looked low in front, but also…
