Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Absorber (24-186940) by Aaron Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm a Bilstein fan so I think it's great value for money.

They were great for aligning our 2013 2WD Suburban 1500. They are a bit more durable compared to OEM. Ride quality is much better, OEMs feel too soft, even new ones, and OEMs tend to cause uneven wear on my all-terrain tires, which is typical of bad or too-soft shocks. I mounted them at the same time as the new tires so time will tell how much better the new mount is. The feature I liked the most was the ability to customize the car to my liking. I didn't set the max height, I got second at the highest setting and I love it. Installation is not for DIY unless you are mechanically inclined and have the right tools. Installation is nearly impossible without the Spring Compression Tool and jack stands. Always an error on the security side. The assembly of compression springs is not for beginners or the faint of heart. UPDATE: I've driven about 1500 miles and everything looks fine. The ride is 10x better than the OEM and I love the leveled look.
