I've been using this for several months and finally ran more detailed calibration tests to ensure my readings are accurate (trying to calculate the efficiency of my brewhouse). I checked closely to confirm that the instructions say I should test in 60F water, but that wasn't the case for my test. That's when I noticed that the scale of a real hydrometer reads "68F" (see figure). It's confusing enough, but when I tested the 68F water it was still off, I ended up measuring 1.00 in 80F water. Anyway, it now appears that all my measurements so far have been wrong. However, I think the discrepancy between the guide and hydrometer should be corrected, 8 degrees difference is enough to have an effect. In general, you should carefully review your measurements and adjust accordingly.
