First of all, I'm a great computer genius! I build computers and am very passionate about it, so I bought these two recorders for my gaming PC to record GNU/LINUX and Windows 10 variants of operating systems under Microsoft license terms. I also write bootloader recovery tools and partitioning programs. Installation is a breeze, I just unplugged my SATA/power connectors and the new ones slipped and snapped straight into place. My computer case is comfortable enough that I don't need to add any screws. On Windows 10 the new burner burned the ISO image to DVD with no problems, I'm dual booting and haven't tested it on Ubuntu yet. The drive generates a minimal noise level. A lot of people have switched to USB sticks, but I always delete them, so I need a more permanent solution. This is where recordable discs come in. The dent in a drive in the top right corner of the rear SATA/Power interface is probably caused by shipping, but it works so I won't bother with it.
