Epic Fail - first random test

The product slowly absorbs into the mastic making a big mess. Removing the mastic did not help and cleaning is still ongoing. We also used cheap corn oil in a small test area. I would say Blue Bear works about 10% better than regular corn oil and neither works well. 6, 12, 24, 48 hours, . Prolonged on did not improve performance. I assume that mastic is not the same as mastic. So if you decide to try this product, I would recommend taking a small amount for testing purposes. Don't pour the whole bottle on the floor. They can create a mess that will take weeks to clear up. I cannot stress enough the need to test a small area before expanding to a larger area. If it works on your little test patch, you're in luck. If not, stop! Do not reuse the product as you will need several free weekends and hundreds of dollars for cleaning. Unfortunately, I ended up in the group of losers. I can't be bothered to sample it first before using it on a large area. I used it on 20% basement. I've spent hundreds of dollars cleaning up the mess. I ended up applying two coats of PerfectPrimer and two coats of Drylok Blueish Gray Concrete Paint. This combination worked great everywhere *except* where I used the MR500 Remover. This mastic was dry and hard. I cleaned it with several products, the last of which was the citrus cleaner that came with the primer. PerfectPrimer has excellent adhesion to mastic. Drylok Concrete Paint is designed to be applied directly to concrete, but is also easily applied over primer. I used an air dryer for priming and painting. Where Blue Bear MR500 has built up, the paint will remain somewhat tacky. I can only assume that it is due to oil residues, despite multiple treatments with degreaser and cleaner. If it doesn't dry out in a month I'll try another coat of primer and paint. All I can say is that the MR500 remover didn't work for me. It cost me a lot of money to clean and my floor wasn't perfect when I found something that actually worked on my floor. I've mentioned earlier that canola oil works about the same as MR500, but the area I used canola oil on was easy to clean, prime and paint and dry to good condition (not sticky). To encapsulate that mastic floor it would be much better to skip the MR500 remover, clean, prime with PerfectPrimer and then paint with Drylok concrete paint. It is dry, hard, low-gloss and non-slip. The area where I used Blue Bear mastic remover is still tacky (tacky) but seems to be starting to harden now if I put a fan on it 24/7. I think a few more months of fan running will cure it completely.
